After twenty-five years of practice and development of “Societal Analysis”, it is interesting to revisit it, not as an ancient monument but as a time situated approach, and today facing new issues. What are the consequences of the “economic globalisation” but also of the renewal of interest in the “local” level, for an approach originally based on the Nation-State ? Do we have to think again about the “societal” as a borderless space where new productive systems are structuring themselves and new kind of actors are emerging through many intermediations ? Doing so the Societal Analysis could contribute, along with other approaches to the renewal of the social sciences and the recombining of their paradigms.
